Why another ebook site?

Well, when I first got a handheld device to read ebooks with, I found lots of websites that wanted to sell me ebooks, and even a lot that would let me download some for free, but I found it difficult to find a place to get quality ebooks formatted in a consistent way. I also found it hard to find info about how to convert files so I could make my own ebooks, or a place where I could get information from someone who wasn't trying to sell me something. So I decided to make handebooks.com. Hey, I like the URL too, and it gives me an excuse to have some server space.

Why else am I doing this? Well I think ebooks are great and I want to encourage their use as much as I possibly can. I will post some public domain books here when people ask for them and I will also try to post some tips on making your own ebooks from your own files.
